Description

An image captured under severely light polluted skies (Bortle 7-8) from Birkirkara, Malta. 5 hours of total exposure time (60x300s) were captured with an astromodified Canon 600D and a 5inch Newtonian (130 PDS) + 0.9x coma corrector, with guiding via PHD2 using a 50mm TS-Optics guide scope and an Orion Starshoot G3 (Mono) as a guide cam.

The nebulae form part of the larger Orion molecular cloud complex - one of the closest star forming regions to Earth, at around 1,400 light years away.
